My 40th Birthday Career Rebirth

Turning 40 is a reckoning. A moment to ask: Is this truly the life I want to keep building? Not just reckoning your accomplishments, but your energy, your ambition, and—most importantly—your alignment.

For years, I was building. Creating. Leading. I poured myself into work that stretched me, challenged me, and gave me a front-row seat to what it takes to scale something big.

It was thrilling—until it wasn’t.

At first, I brushed it off as a rough season. A temporary mismatch between expectations and reality. But eventually, I had to admit: I was evolving. The impact I wanted to make and the models I was operating in weren’t lining up anymore. Again and again, I saw how even “progressive” business spaces were replicating the same old power structures.

I realized I was ready to build something different—something that didn’t just talk about liberation, but actually practiced it.

I knew I needed a different kind of clarity. And then I met Kiersten.

Kiersten is not a career coach or a therapist but an astrologer—someone who doesn’t predict the future so much as she reframes the present. I booked a session with her, not because I needed someone to tell me what to do, but because I needed language for what I already knew.

She read my natal chart—a mysterious (to me) constellation (literally) of planets, transits, and conjunctions (not to be confused with conjunctivitis). She described patterns of self-abandonment—of pouring my energy into other people’s dreams while leaving my own barely watered. She spoke of transformation, of the courage required to shed a skin that no longer fits.

Her words hit me hard—not in the way a pep talk does, but in the way truth does.

I wasn’t just inspired to think differently. I was inspired to act.

And so, just weeks before my 40th birthday, I did the thing I’d been afraid to do: I walked away.

Alignment Isn’t About What You Leave—It’s About What You’re Creating

A quiet but undeniable whisper: This isn’t it anymore.

It wasn’t failure. It wasn’t burnout. It was an invitation to step into something bigger.

Misalignment isn’t about villains and victims. It’s not about who should have done what. It’s an invitation.

An invitation to stop forcing what no longer fits—and start creating what’s next.

And for me, what’s next is about the collective.

Building the Future I Want to See

For the past seven years, I wasn’t just building a brand—I was architecting the execution of vision, scaling a team, and driving a business from $1M to eight figures. I led strategy, shaped culture, and helped generate over $50 million in revenue—not just through sales, but by designing programs that created real transformation.

I built teams, not just org charts. I restructured decision-making to empower people, shifting from top-down control to a culture of ownership and trust. I helped turn ideas into movements, clients into communities, and big visions into sustainable systems.

And now, I’m building something that doesn’t just imagine a better way of working—it lives it.

I’m taking everything I’ve learned—from scaling a business to eight figures, to leading teams, to designing sustainable systems—and bringing it into a new space.

One where I can build in public, share the strategies that worked (and the ones that didn’t), and explore what success looks like when it isn’t rooted in extraction, exploitation, or endless hustle.

This next chapter is about freedom—not the illusion of choice within broken systems, but the real ability to build structures that don’t rely on extraction, burnout, or hierarchy as the price of success.

It’s about equity—not as a corporate buzzword, but as the foundation of how decisions are made, how power is distributed, and how wealth is shared.

And it’s about redefining ambition—not as endless accumulation, but as something deeply human: the ability to create, to contribute, and to lead without self-abandonment.
